Voluntary Product Recall – EC Rainbow Sand (1.3 kg)
Educational Colours Pty Ltd has issued a voluntary recall of certain batches of EC Rainbow Sand (1.3 kg) supplied between 2021 and 2025. Independent testing has detected traces of naturally occurring tremolite asbestos in some samples. Experts advise the associated safety risk is negligible, however the recall has been initiated as a precaution.
What you should do
- Stop using the product immediately.
- Do not return the product to the store.
- Follow the disposal and safety guidance provided in the official ACCC recall notice below.

Refunds Online customers: Customers who purchased online have already been contacted directly. Refunds for online orders will be processed automatically.
In-store customers: Customers who purchased in store can receive a full refund upon providing proof of purchase (receipt or invoice).
