This range of Active Optical HDMI male to male leads offer excellent performance for your HDMI equipped devices. They are suitable for use with 2.1 HDMI compliant equipment and are capable of 8K resolutions at 60Hz and 4K resolutions at up to 120Hz. The series has been constructed and designed using hybrid optical cable with fiber and copper wire to ensure high-definition performance.  The range also features the V2.3 version of High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection.

Care should be taken when installing this optical cable to ensure that it is not run in tight bends (less than 2cm diameter) and that the cable does not knot. The cable should not be bent 180 degrees. Doing so will break the internal optical fibre core and render the cable inoperable. We do not provide warranty on cables which have been installed incorrectly. We suggest checking the cable connectivity between equipment prior to installation.

What is AOC HDMI?
Active Optical Cable HDMI does exactly the same thing as a standard HDMI cable, with one major difference which is very important for installers. AOC cables allow lossless signal transfer over far greater distances than copper HDMI cables and even HDMI UTP baluns!

Normal copper HDMI cables start to lose bandwidth at lengths of 7.5m or more, steadily reducing the quality and even maximum resolution of the cable until eventually at 20m they reach their maximum distance. AOC HDMI cables use an optical fibre (much like S/PDIF audio) which can be run over distances up to 100m at full 4K @ 120Hz (8K @ 60Hz) video and lossless digital audio.

This cable is a HDMI 48Gbit/s specification made by an official HDMI adopter and type of leads outlined in the official HDMI adopter standard.
