Nelson Phonics-in-a-Box 3 focuses on vowel sounds, including regular and more complex vowel sounds. Box 3 explores long vowel sounds a, e, i, o and u, r-controlled vowel sounds, long /oo/ vowel sounds, diphthongs and the schwa/unstressed vowel sounds.

The box includes a Teacher’s Resource Book, 50 vowel flashcards, 32 one-word readers and 40 decodable story books. Classroom 4-packs and 6-packs add extra copies of the story books.
