Afterpay is a payment method that allows you to buy now and pay later for your order over four equal fortnightly instalments, interest-free.

Afterpay is available on Teacher Superstore orders of $80 to $1000. Afterpay is not available on Teacher Superstore gift cards.

How it works

  1. Browse our store and add items to your cart
  2. Select Afterpay as your payment method in checkout
  3. Follow the prompts to create an Afterpay account, or login and pay for your order
  4. Enjoy your purchase right away and pay over four equal instalments.

What you’ll need

To use Afterpay you need:

  • An Australian residential address
  • To be over 18 years of age
  • To have an Australian debit or credit card
  • To have a valid and verifiable email address and mobile number.

Extra payment information

Afterpay FAQs

What is Afterpay?

Afterpay is a payment method that allows you to buy now and pay later for your order over four equal fortnightly instalments. Afterpay can be used for Teacher Superstore orders that total $80 to $1000.

Who can use Afterpay?

To use Afterpay you must:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Have an Australian residential address
  • Have a credit or debit card
  • Have a valid and verifiable email address and mobile number.

What are the costs for using Afterpay?

There are no extra fees for selecting Afterpay as your payment method. You’ll make payments in four equal instalments every two weeks directly to Afterpay. Afterpay will send you a reminder two days before payment is due via SMS or email.

If you fail to make payment, you’ll be charged a late payment fee of $10, with a further $7 fee added 7 days later, if the payment is still unpaid. In addition, as Afterpay is linked to your credit or debit card, standard fees and charges may apply. Please refer to your card issuer for terms and conditions.

How do I use Afterpay?

1. Add items to your cart. 2. Choose Afterpay as your payment method during checkout. 3. Follow the prompts to register as a new customer or log in as an existing Afterpay user. When you complete your purchase, you’ll receive a payment schedule from Afterpay via email. You’ll also receive an order confirmation email from us.

When do I pay for my order?

If you’re using Afterpay for the first time, you’ll need to make your first payment at the time of purchase. The remaining three payments will be automatically deducted from your nominated card each fortnight.

If you’re an existing Afterpay customer, your first payment will be deducted two weeks after your purchase for orders under $500. For orders over $500, you’ll always be required to make the first payment at the time of purchase.

The payment schedule is between you and Afterpay. The schedule can be viewed by logging into your Afterpay account. Once logged in, you may also make voluntary payments to pay for the order before the due date.

Can I split the payment between Afterpay and other payment methods?

Unfortunately, you’re unable to split the payment for an order between Afterpay and other payment methods.

What products can I buy using Afterpay?

You can pay for any product using Afterpay with the exception of:

  • Teacher Superstore gift cards
  • Backorders and pre-orders.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

Items purchased from Teacher Superstore using Afterpay are subject to the Cancellation, Refund and Return Policy detailed in our Terms and Conditions.

On the rare occasion that we’re unable to supply all of the items in you order, a refund will be processed and Afterpay alerted. Afterpay will amend your payment schedule to account for the refund.

When will my order be delivered if I use Afterpay?

When you pay for your order using Afterpay, you order will be processed and dispatched as any other order on our website that is paid in full. Afterpay orders are delivered as per our standard Shipping and Delivery timeframes.

What is Zip?

Zip is a payment option that lets you own your order now and pay later. No interest, hidden fees or upfront payments. The $6 monthly account fee is waived if your balance is paid by the due date.

Zip Pay is available on Teacher Superstore orders of $50 to $1000. Zip Pay is not available on Teacher Superstore gift cards.

Zip FAQs

What is Zip?

Zip is a payment method that allows you to buy things today and pay for them over time, interest free. Zip Pay can be used for Teacher Superstore orders that total $50 to $1000.

Who can use Zip?

To use Zip you need to:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Have an Australian debit card
  • Have a good credit history
  • Have a valid email address and phone number
  • Have a valid Facebook, PayPal or LinkedIn account in your name.

What are the costs for using Zip?

  • Interest Free Period: Always
  • Establishment Fee: $0
  • Minimum Repayments: $40/month
  • Monthly Fee: $6 - waived if you have no balance (more info)
  • Late Fee: $5 (may apply – see details)

Zip Pay works like an account. You get one account for all of your purchases, with only one repayment schedule to manage.

When you open your account, Zip will set up a monthly payment of $40 (or less if you owe under this amount). This will come from your debit card on the last day of each month and keep going until your purchases are paid off.

  • Your first payment won’t be due until the end of next month.
  • For all purchases, you make during a month you receive a statement with your closing balance on the 1st day of the following month.
  • You have until the end of the month to pay off your balance for the account to remain fee free.

Here’s an example : If you make your first purchase on the 1st of March for $39, you will receive a statement on the 1st of April with the closing balance of $39 (unless you made more purchases in March) which you need to pay off until the 30th of April in order to not have to pay the account fee of $6.

If you'd prefer to take extra time to pay off your balance, it's no problem - you'll just need to pay the monthly minimum of $40, and a $6 account fee will be added to your balance for the following month.

For example: If you make two purchases in February, you'll receive a statement on March 1st showing how much you owe for these two purchases. You'll then have until March 31st to pay this amount without being charged the $6 account fee. Any purchases you make during March will appear on the April statement and are therefore due by end of April.

How do I pay for my order?

Payments are taken automatically via direct debit - you don't need to manually transfer money unless you would like to pay down your balance faster, and it doesn't replace your scheduled payment run. You can set up your repayments to fall monthly, fortnightly or weekly at whatever amount suits (provided this is greater than the monthly minimum of $40). If you decide not to set up an individual schedule, Zip will take repayments automatically at the end of the next month.

You can also make additional payments whenever you like via card or BPay.

Can I split the payment between Zip and other payment methods?

Unfortunately, you’re unable to split the payment for an order between Zip and other payment methods.
