This study guide has been written in sections, in accordance to the syllabus. Each section relates to the topics ‘Research Methods’ Unit 3 and 4 ‘Self’ and Unit 3 and 4 ‘Others’.

Research Method

The first section of your final exam will be compiled of Research Method questions. Chapter 1 begins with a syllabus checklist of Research Methods and a brief overview of what is required. Research Methods, is a continuation of the Year 11 Research Method section, however, it is important you review this section leading up to your examination. Included in the chapter are example questions, followed by study problems for you to answer.

Review Questions and Answers

The rest of the review questions are split into ‘Self’ and ‘Others’ for both Unit 3 and 4. These will provide you with all the required knowledge to help you with the trial tests. They begin with a syllabus checklist and psychological terminology, which will help you answer exam questions more thoroughly. Followed by numerous study questions related to the syllabus.

Trial Tests and Essays

This section follows the format of your final exam:

Section One: Research Methods – 20% Section Two: Short Answer – 55% Section Three: Extended Answer – 25%

Every question has its own detailed answer, sometimes with more information than is required in an examination. It is imperative you are familiar with the terminology used in the syllabus and are able to apply your knowledge in your answers.
