Tsumiki means 'building blocks' and the carefully sequenced elements of this three-stage course for Years 7-10 will help students to build a sound foundation and reach great heights in their language learning.
The Tsumiki Student Books are extensively illustrated in two colours by a Japanese artist to maintain cultural authenticity. They also contain more than 150 photographs.
The storyline is based on plausible and meaningful scenarios. The main characters are Andrew from Sydney and Mariana from Auckland. In Units 1-5 Andrew and Mariana communicate with Japanese students who are visiting their schools and homes. In Unit 6 they fly to Japan for homestay visits with host families in Osaka and Tokyo (Units 7-10).
The story unfolds in Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
The Workbook contains relevant tasks and activities to reinforce the language structures, grammar and the themes covered in the Student Book.
