Part of the series Mastery Learning Folders.
A Class Set of Mastery Learning Folders enables a teacher to begin individualised remediation, consolidation or extension of classroom learning for every student across subject areas, through the use of the folders as a homework tool. The content in the folders will reflect the classroom learning program. Examples:
- In English, students may progress through phonological awareness skills, to basic phonics, alternative sounds, CVC consolidation and on to sight words. At the same time, any learning content that is identified as needing remediation through regular class assessments can be added to the folder, for example, skip counting practice.
- The Teacher’s File containing flashcard organisers is a tool that facilitates pre and post testing of classroom learning. Learning content can be photocopied in advance and testing and the allocation of flashcards can be conducted directly from the file, greatly simplifying the task of providing students with individualised content.
- In folder trials, student stickers have proved to be a great motivator in completing and recording daily homework sessions.
